Quotes Of The Day
Just a few snippets to share while I gather thoughts to write something a little more significant:
First, a line from last night’s episode of Coronation Street, of all places. For the life of me, I cannot remember what context it was used in or how it came about, but I laughed out loud when I heard it.
“Did you hear the one about the dyslexic atheist? He sold his soul to Santa.”
And from The Man In The Street, a comment about the state of this country’s economy and how it’s affecting him on this, Canada’s 141st birthday:
“I’m working twice as hard for twice as less.”
Out for my morning walk, I pass by one of our regular customers down at the Booze Emporium. He’s an older Jamaican gentleman (and a true gentleman, I might add). We call him “Dready”, after his chosen hairstyle. He’s riding his bicycle through the neighbourhood. I give him a wave.
“Good morning, Ma’am. Happy Canada Day to you.”
“And to you.”
“Irie”
Yup, they really say that.
