The Scariest Dry Spell Of Them All

It’s been a rough couple of weeks.

I’ve been bereft of words. Me. The woman who calls herself a writer. Stuck. I’ve sat down at the computer on a number of occasions to create, only to walk away in frustration. I’ve had nothing. My brain has been addled by other things. No, no, there’s nothing wrong at home. No worries there. My life is just…complicated.

Between sorting out my future and jonesing for story ideas, I’ve simply been spinning my wheels. It’s a terrible, terrible feeling. Last night as I sobbed out my problems to my beloved, I wondered aloud if I was ever going to write again.

Thankfully, here I am. Writing. And it doesn’t hurt a bit.

If you’re a writer and you’ve been through what I’ve been through, I’d love to hear from you. Creative dry spells aren’t nearly as agonizing when you know you’re not the only one going through it.
